Why should I join?
If your goal is to make our food supply and consumer products the safest in the world, your active participation in GLCFP will help you to attain that goal.
Independently, no single agency or company can achieve the level of protection that we can create together.
Through membership in GLCFP, you can contribute to the evolution of model regulations in the marketplace that maximize both consumer protection and industry potential.
The Annual Meeting: Each spring, GLCFP holds an educational meeting, hosted in different locations in Michigan.
Leaders from regulatory agencies, regulated industries, and academia are featured as speakers. They provide current and accurate information on legislative, regulatory, and technical changes affecting us all.
The meetings provide opportunities for face-to-face discussions among all members. Association resolutions, policies, and drafts of model legislation are considered and voted on.
Current issues and problems are discussed in formal sessions, group discussions, and informally outside of working sessions. The meetings provide opportunities for networking during working hours and at social events.
The exchange of ideas and information pertaining to regulatory, technical, analytical or industry issues stimulates effective problem solving.
The Membership
Members come from local, state and federal regulatory agencies, from the regulated industry, academia, and consumers.
The non-profit association primarily serves a Michigan membership; however, membership is not limited within the state boundry.
Our partnership means working together to achieve rational and effective regulation - changes that benefit us all and ensure the health and safety of consumers.
